HOW TO REACH ELBA ISLAND

It’s possible to reach the Elba Island, from Piombino’s harbour.
At the port there are two shipping companies: TOREMAR and MOBYLINES.
Both, have comfortable ferry boats, that during the summer season carry out several fares in a day.
In just 1 hour navigation, ( in 35 min. with TOREMAR faster ships) we can reach the harbours of: Rio Marina, Porto Azzurro and Portoferraio.
For the only carriage of passengers, there’s a failsafe (aliscafo), that in only 20 min. reaches Cavo, (a little village nearby Rio Marina in the north-eastern side of Elba Island), and going on, after 15 minutes, it arrives to Portoferraio.

• FROM THE NORTH from Ventimiglia, through Genova

Highway A12 direction Genova-Livorno, exit Rosignano.
Take the Aurelia road (Ss) until Venturina-Isola d’Elba. From there, follow the direction for Piombino Marittima until the Harbour.

• FROM THE NORTH-EAST from Brennero

Highway A22 until Modena, then follow the direction for Bologna- Firenze: Highway A1 until the exit of Firenze Signa.
From there, take the road Firenze - Pisa- Livorno (S.G.C. Strada grande comunicazione), until the exit Collesalvetti.
Take the Highway A12 for Genova-Livorno until Rosignano Marittima, then follow the way for Venturina-Isola d’Elba and exit. From there, until Piombino Marittima Harbour.

• FROM THE SOUTH

  Highway A12 Roma – Civitavecchia.
  Exit of Civitavecchia, and take the Aurelia road (Ss) until the exit of Venturina – Isola d’Elba.
  Then follow the direction for Piombino Marittma Harbour.

It’s possible to reach the Piombino Harbour by train, with the train-line Campiglia- Piombino in connection with the train-line Roma-Genova.

We can reach Elba Island also by plane, through daily national connections from: Milano Linate, Bergamo, Parma, Bologna and Pisa, direct international flights from Berna Monaco, Berna, Ginevra, Alterhein, Stoccarda, Zurigo and others international flights from Amburgo, Francoforte and Londra with intermediate landing in Pisa Airport.
In the I sland, the airport is located at La Pila, 2 Km far from Marina di Campo, in a central position, taking less than 1 hour by car, to reach all the others areas of Elba Island.
At the airport there is Bus ATL service, and services to rent autos or scooters.

HOW TO REACH ETRUSCO HOTEL

The Etrusco Hotel is located in the eastern side of Elba Island, in the village of Rio Marina. Considering it, it could be easier and faster to reach the hotel, sailing in Piombino harbour until the Rio Marina harbour destination. Choosing the shipping company TOREMAR, in 30-45 minutes it’s possible to reach Rio Marina.	Click on the map for zoom
Arriving to the harbour of Rio Marina, exit and follow the direction for the Etrusco Hotel, turning immediately on the left side. Cross the center of the village, and after 1,5 Km you will find the enter of the Etrusco Hotel on Your left.

If you choose Portoferraio, as harbour destination from Piombino, in this case You will take about 20 minutes to reach the Etrusco hotel.
Exit from the harbour and follow the sign “all the directions” taking a road with 4 gangways, then turn on the left for Porto Azzurro direction, and take a boulevard with planted tress ( San Giovanni site).
Cross the slope of Le Grotte, and after a meandering way, pay attention to a junction: here you can choose 2 different way to reach Rio marina.

1) at this junction, turn left and follow the direction for Magazzini, and after about 3,5 Km turn right for Volterraio, a meandering road, but with beautiful panorama; at the end of this road there’s a cross-road and follow the direction for Rio Marina, after 400 mt. on your right you will find the enter of the Etrusco Hotel. From Portoferraio to Rio Marina you take 25 minutes by car, the harbour is 26 Km far from the hotel.

2) at this junction, don’t turn, go all straight on, until Porto Azzurro. Cross the village, taking always the main road, after about 12 Km there’s the cross-road with the direction for Rio Marina. After about 400 mt. on your right you will find the enter of the Etrusco Hotel.
Choosing this second way, you will take about 30 minutes by car.
